School Year Halfway Point, Already?

For our 3 children it has been a whirlwind of activity this year, from building rock projects to writing social studies reports on the colonies of America built by the pilgrims. They have studied every major subject including Spanish as a second language, while exercising for 30 minutes or more Monday through Friday and practicing three instruments of their choosing. They do so much, and yet I can say that I feel behind. There is so much material to cover in Social Studies alone, not to mention math and science. I don't just follow the textbooks, but I add additional projects to include with certain lessons, and we end up falling behind on the subject matter for the next week or 2; but then I am a strong believer in giving children flexibility and reasonable time to achieve their goals while performing at their best. So, the pressure I feel truly is unfounded because the children are learning at the pace that is right for them, and should never be measured by a worldly standard of what someone else does.
